Sasha Joseph Neulinger // Director

Sasha Joseph Neulinger (B.A in Film Production at Montana State University) is the co-founder and Head of Production at Step 1 Films, where he has produced, directed, and edited for commercial clients nationally. In April 2014, Sasha launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds to start production for REWIND, and in doing so, it became the 6th most backed documentary in Kickstarter history, raising over $176,000 from the support of 4,395 supporters. Sasha travels nationally as a public speaker, advocating for reforms in child advocacy and child abuse prevention.  His TEDxBozeman presentation titled "Trauma Is Irreversible. How It Shapes Us Is Our Choice” has been seen by over 200,000 viewers.  In 2016, Sasha was the Survivor Keynote Speaker at the Crimes Against Children Conference, where he addressed over 4,200 men and women representing all 50 states and 28 other nations in the fight against child abuse.  In 2018, he spoke at The National Children’s Alliance Leadership Conference, a gathering of administrators, coordinators and board members of Children’s Advocacy Centers.

Thomas Winston // Executive Producer

Tom is the founder and president of Grizzly Creek Films, a full-service production company that has created original series and specials for The National Geographic Channel, Smithsonian Channel, History Channel and PBS. His films have been winners and finalists at Wildscreen Festival, the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival and the Banff Mountain Film Festival.


Cindy Meehl // Executive Producer

Cindy Meehl founded Cedar Creek Productions in 2008. She is the director of the highly acclaimed documentary BUCK (2011 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award, Academy Award 2011 shortlist, Full Frame Audience Award, Cinema Eye Honors Audience Choice Award, Zurich International Film Festival Best International Documentary, and many more). Meehl is also Executive Producer on TRAPPED (Sundance Special Jury Award 2016), UNBRANDED (Audience Award, HotDocs Film Festival, Telluride Mountainfilm Audience Award) and DOGS ON THE INSIDE (Audience Choice Award at Rhode Island International Film Festival 2014). She is the executive producer on For the Birds which world premiered at Sheffield Doc Fest in 2018 (new talent award nominee) and had its US premiere at AFI Docs. The film continues to tour the festival circuit. Meehl is currently directing a new film on dogs and cats and integrative medicine that is expected to premiere in 2019.


Avela Grenier // Editor and Producer

Avela is a designer, producer and editor living in Bozeman, Montana. Her work spans commercial marketing, national history filmmaking and social documentary. Her award-winning design credits include projects for Microsoft's Xbox Studios, IBM and Nestle in animation, branding and public relations. She has produced original broadcast episodes for NatGeo Wild  and History Channel. Her most recent short films were finalists at the 2018 Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, Telluride Mountainfilm and the International Wildlife Film Festival.


Shasta Grenier // Producer

Shasta is an award winning director, writer, and editor with a background in non-fiction film and literature.  Her work has aired on PBS, the History Channel, and NatGeo Wild and appeared in the New York Times. She has directed and edited three feature documentaries. CLASS C debuted at the Big Sky Documentary festival where it won the Big Sky Award. The critically acclaimed NOT YET BEGUN TO FIGHT  appeared at festivals nationwide, winning the Audience Award at the Florida Film Festival and the San Diego Film Festival and the Moving Mountains Award at Telluride Mountainfilm.

Jeff Dougherty // Director of Photography

Jeff Dougherty (B.A. in Film Production, Montana State University) has worked extensively in commercial, promotion, and documentary films. Jeff has operated cameras for Sportsman Channel’s Meat Eater and TLC‘s Sister Wives. He has produced and directed for Zero Point Zero West, Bozeman outpost of the award-winning media company Zero Point Zero. He is currently a camera operator for Warm Springs Productions, and travels nationally as a broadcast television cinematographer.

T. Griffin // Composer

T. Griffin has composed scores for over 40 feature length films, and dozens of live and multimedia projects. Notable titles include the Academy-Award nominated LIFE, ANIMATED and multiple festival award winners QUEST, THE OVERNIGHTERS, and WELCOME TO LEITH as well as the Oscar Shortlisted ONE OF US. He composed the music for Showtime's 8-episode documentary series ACTIVE SHOOTER, and for two episodes of Netflix'  DIRTY MONEY, produced by Alex Gibney. He has worked with Roger Ross-Williams, Dawn Porter and Rob Epstein and Jeffery Friedman on hour long specials for Discovery Channel and for Netflix. He was a fellow at the Sundance Composers' Lab in 2008, and has twice been nominated for Cinema Eye Honors for Original Music Score. He is based in Brooklyn, New York.
